It is also known as the Green Corn Moon and the Grain Moon. Since this is the third of four full moons in the season, it is referred to as a blue moon, a rare event that occurs once every few years. On the same day, September 18, a Partial Lunar Eclipse will occur. October 2: Annular Solar Eclipse

On the same day, October 2, an Annular Solar Eclipse will take place.
